Having become autonomous in 1801, the commune of Châtillon covers an area of 127 hectares, surrounded by Font and Châbles.

It is located 5 minutes by car from Estavayer-le-Lac and the motorway entrance.

With a primary school that is part of the Lully-Châtillon school circle, you will find two bus stops to reach the Broye school circle in Estavayer-le-Lac.

The town currently has more than 500 inhabitants as well as around twenty second homes. Eight distinct neighborhoods are built on the west, north and east slopes of the hill called “La Crêtaz” which culminates at an altitude of 610 m. From the place called "Le Purgatoire", a panoramic view allows walkers to discover the Jura, the lakes of Neuchâtel and Morat, the Broye plain, the Pre-Alps and the Alps.
