Domaine Le Château de Merlinge (approx. 48 ha)

At the end of the Middle Ages, Merlinge was a group of around six rural buildings. In the 16th century, the first stronghold of Merlinge was added, replaced in 1645 by the current Château de Merlinge. During the Reformation, Merlinge was a refuge for libertines. In the 18th century, the old rural dwellings all disappeared, all of the land was incorporated into the seigneury.

Fallen into disrepair during the 19th century, the estate was bought and restored at the start of the 20th century. In 1942, it became the residence of the Queen of Italy and the Italian royal family until 2005, when her descendants sold it on.

Today, the estate, built on approximately 48 hectares of agricultural land in the town of Meinier, consists of a main building, the castle. Totaling approximately 1,500 m² of living space with superb volumes and undeniable character spread over 3 levels, it offers 8 bedrooms and magnificent reception rooms.

Separated by the main courtyard, two recently renovated habitable outbuildings, totaling approximately 800 m², enhance the estate. They consist in particular of 3 apartments. Many annexes complete this object: an orangery, a chapel, garden pavilions, a greenhouse, stables and a farm.

The French gardens, beautifully landscaped and maintained, offer undeniable tranquility and privacy. A heated swimming pool 24 meters long, embellished by a terrace, completes the space.

The pavilion and the old chapel of Merlinge are classified as historical monuments, as are the landscaped gardens of the plot.
