A little history...

This 18th century complex is a farmhouse whose layout dates back mainly to the restoration. Used as a café and grocery store, this farmhouse contributed, until the 1950s, to defining a meeting place for village life in relation to local peasant habits. Abandoned, the Zurcher café was not listed as a public establishment. On the other hand, the building was listed by the service of historical monuments and was classified with the note 4.

Located in the center of the village of Choulex, the two main characteristics of the farmhouse are its "strategic" location and its open shape at the intersection of the road to Choulex and the path to Gouille-Noire. These two characteristics combine to mark its presence from the bottom of the villager, but also from the top of the hill overlooking Choulex.
