Between fields, orchards and vines, the construction of the castle in 1513 by Jean de Merveilleux, lord of Thielle and ambassador of King François I to the Swiss leagues, marks a new stage. Possessing already the Castle of Beauregard, Marvelous found the site so full of agrarian charm that he built a first house rather square, with cool cellars and a single hexagonal tower on the village side.

As this fortunate proprietor had four sons and a large number of offspring, it was necessary to enlarge the castle on the west side from 1572 to 1574. Flanked by three towers after the work, the large building with its numerous windows to the south had taken on a physiognomy. pretty endearing.

A new entrance, surmounted by the vintage 1574, is decorated with a pediment similar to that of the Praroman House in Auvernier and it constitutes, with its rooms, a beautiful set of the architecture of the Renaissance.
Similarly, the work of Chappuis, carpenters of the time, in the roof of the castle that looks like the hull of a ship, is remarkable.

During the 80s, as well as in the year 2004, the castle was renovated, it houses administrative offices of companies and a cellar very well preserved.
