The community of Ausserberg is located at around 1000 m above sea level. M. at the Lötschberg south ramp approx. 7 km from Visp. There are good transport options, on the one hand through the post bus connection to Visp and the rail connection in the direction of Brig / Bern. Ausserberg can be reached from Visp in around 15 minutes by car.
Ausserberg is particularly attractive for tourism thanks to its nature. The historical Suonen, which are still useful for the population today, can be visited on several hiking routes. UNESCO has declared the Jungfrau-Aletsch region, to which the local community of Ausserberg also belongs, a World Heritage Site.
