The building is located at a place called "Commeire" on the sunny hillside of the right bank of the Dranse, about 15 minutes drive from the village of Orsières and all its amenities. Located at 1'454 m altitude, facing south, the hamlet boasts its stone houses, firmly attached to the slope. In the past, 40 to 60 people lived mainly on land and livestock. Today, around twenty inhabitants live there all year long. Others stay there occasionally on weekends or during their holidays. Several renovated barns shelter a hotel structure with the original concept "Alternative Mountain". There is a bus stop 60 m from the building linking to Orsières station.
