Splendid equestrian domain with magnificent main building, a Stöckli (house for elders or granary), stables with tack room, barn and exercise yard for sale at Domdidier
This splendid and unique equestrian domain “Domaine de la Croix” is most advantageously located very close to Avenches and the IENA (national equestrian centre). The surroundings are heavenly and peaceful.
The property covers a little less than 3 hectares. It includes the main B2 listed 17th Century building and a self-contained studio with a total liveable area of about 319 sq m. Also on the property are the Stöckli annex (originally a house for elders or a granary) with an area of some 73 sq m, stables with 6 boxes, a tack room and barn and a 40 x 25 metres exercise yard with shelter for obstacles.
Fully fenced grazing fields are part of the property.
All the buildings were completely renovated in 1984 and are in perfect condition. Several more recent renovations have included floors, windows, doors, wine cellar and the studio.
The whole property has been exempted from the LDFR (Federal law on rural land rights).
LOCATION
The property is at Domdidier on the Commune of Belmont-Broye in the Canton of Fribourg, but it borders on the Commune of Avenches (Vaud).
Domdidier, with its fairly advantageous tax rate, includes the primary and secondary schools of the Broye region.
Every Swiss child will have come on a school excursion to visit medieval Avenches, the capital of Roman Helvetia then called Aventicum. It has important monuments including an arena where today classical and rock festivals take place.
Avenches is also the horse capital of Switzerland, home to the National equestrian centre with its fine facilities for all kinds of equine pursuits, horse racing and the national stud.
The property is very close to the Avenches exit of the N1 motorway.
Although right in the countryside, the property is very close to all amenities (schools, public transport and shops).
Domdidier and Avenches are in the heart of the Basse Broye region, halfway between Lausanne and Bern.
