The mountain village of Bürchen is located in the heart of Valais, on a sunny plateau overlooking the Rhone Valley. This small family resort in the Augsbord region is a haven for hikers from spring to autumn. In winter, family winter sports resorts await holidaymakers.

This sunny plateau with a magnificent view from the top of its 1200 m altitude and located on the Augstbordhorn is accessible by road from Visp and Turtmann. In addition, cable cars run from Rarogne to Eischoll and Unterbäch. Opposite, on the other side of the Rhone Valley, stands the imposing Bietschhorn. Thanks to its central location in the heart of Upper Valais, this resort is an ideal starting point for excursions in the Valais.

Bürchen, the village of birches, is entirely devoted to this tree. The educational trail makes you discover all that it is useful to know about birch. 220 km of hiking trails and 70 km of cycle routes await holidaymakers. In July and August are offered special events for children.

In the Augstbord region, peasants, as often in Valais, have installed irrigation canals because of the drought. Today, hiking trails follow these "bisses". In the cheese dairy, the cheese maker will allow you to take a look in the large cauldrons. For lovers of adventure is the descent of Brandalp Raron in "Monster-Trottis" kind of giant scooter that can be rented. Mountain bikers will have 60 km of circuits.

In the ski areas of Moosalp and Ginalstal with almost guaranteed snow, chairlifts and ski lifts await skiers and snowboard enthusiasts from 1200 to 2500 m altitude. These areas are also equipped with cross-country ski runs and a 7 km long toboggan run. In winter there is a fox hunt in the snow for children. A gourmet safari offers snow lovers an adventure combining pleasures for the mind and body.
