Montanaire
Only 15 minutes from Yverdon-les-Bains, Montanaire is a Swiss municipality in the canton of Vaud, located in the Gros-de-Vaud district. It was created on January 1, 2013, after the merger of nine municipalities.
The locality of Thierrens hosts the administrative headquarters of the municipality.
During the referendums of January 29, 2012, the municipalities of Chanéaz, Chapelle-sur-Moudon, Correvon, Denezy, Martherenges, Neyruz-sur-Moudon, Peyres-Possens, Saint-Cierges and Thierrens validated their merger to form a new municipality that came into being on January 1, 2013. Its name is that of a locality situated between Saint-Cierges and Thierrens, which means small mountain or hill. As of May 1, 2021, it comprises 2,777 inhabitants.
