Beautiful detached house with two apartments
This lovely detached house is situated in a residential area where the famous author Romain Rolland once lived. It is divided into two apartments (5 and 6 rooms), which benefit from a glimpse of the lake and the surrounding mountains.
The two apartments could easily be reunited if necessary.
This property was built in the 1950s using excellent materials and has been properly maintained down through the years.
It is located some five minutes by car or bus from Montreux with all its amenities and just one hundred metres from the lakeside and its beaches.
POSITION
Villeneuve is situated at the far end of Lake Geneva, near the Château de Chillon, the Grangettes nature reserve and the lakeside quays with the Mont d'Arvel and Rochers-de-Naye high above. It has an excellent climate and an outstanding panoramic view. Illustrious guests have stayed there, including Mahatma Gandhi, Lord Byron, Léon Gambetta, Victor Hugo, Richard Wagner, Romain Rolland and the painter Oskar Kokoschka.
Villeneuve covers 3,208 hectares, half of which is woodland or wooded pasture, and is the 13th largest commune in the Vaud region in terms of surface area. More than 61.5 hectares of very beautiful vineyards produce an excellent wine.
The privileged position of the commune between lake and mountains, its carefully protected architectural heritage and its location at the head of the lake provide Villeneuve with a certain cachet that has been preserved down through the centuries, and which the expert growers and vintners translate so beautifully into a wine with the same ‘appellation'.
