The Château du Bois is made up of a group of buildings listed as cultural heritage because of their qualities. It was built in the 18th century by the Gady family. He has had various assignments such as boarding school, boarding school, home or school.
In 1836, the Jesuits acquired the property to make it a boarding school at St-Michel College in Friborg. Then, at the beginning of the 20th century, the building is occupied by the boarding school of the Sisters of the congregation of St-Charles de Lyon.
Inside the building, in the east wing, was the chapel of St. Nicholas of Flüe, a popular pilgrimage site. Today, it houses a magnificent loft, having retained its cathedral ceiling.
