The penultimate Geneva commune before the canton of Vaud, it borders the Vaud communes of Chavannes-des-Bois and Mies, as well as the Geneva communes of Genthod and Collex-Bossy.
Boats belonging to the Compagnie générale de navigation sur le Lac Léman - CGN network provide access to the main Swiss and French coastal towns from late April to mid-October. The landing stage is located at Quai de Versoix, and Versoix is served by two SBB stations: Versoix station, near the historic center, and Pont-Céard station, in the new town.
