This region was for centuries a first stopover for summer pastures, a place where cattle owners took their animals for a spring stay around mid-May and from there the cows went to the upper mountain pastures, namely Loutze and Chamosentze. Located in the heart of the Tourbillon forest, the Nordic center is in the middle of the tourist plateau of Ovronnaz and Mayens-de-Chamoson.
