The geographical location of the village is responsible for the fact that many of the workers from Giebenach work in the city of Basel and the nearby industrial centers, while the surrounding green meadows and forests are used for recreation. The village center is particularly idyllic with its old farmhouses, the fish farm on the Violenbach and the 'Chalet' restaurant with the adjoining playground. This was created in 2015 and is particularly popular with the village children.
