Art. 62. ZONE 1 Village zone 1 and 2

a) Definition and purpose
This zone aims to:
- to save the particularly interesting buildings, as well as the architectural typology of the old village and its surroundings;
- to promote housing;
- to promote the maintenance and creation of economic activities serving the inhabitants of the villages.
This area is intended for housing, shops, hotels, restaurants and activities that do not cause nuisance to the neighborhood.
New agricultural constructions are prohibited.

b) Prior request
Before any application for authorization to build, a prior request in principle is submitted to the municipality.

c) Architectural options
In this area, the freedom of architectural design is restricted. New constructions must harmonize with existing constructions. Transformations must respect the architectural character of the existing building.
The choice of materials is subject to the approval of the municipality.

d) Former templates
The municipality can admit the reconstruction, the renovation, the transformation on the level of the old foundations in derogation of the minimum distances to the limits. In case of reconstruction, the applicant is required to make a survey in the rules of the art of existing construction, with precise mention of the volume and its current location.

e) Heights
The height of the building will in all cases be adapted to the maximum height of the surrounding traditional buildings.
