Gryon is located in the Vaudois Prealps, at 1114 m altitude, 9 km as the crow flies southeast of the city of Aigle.

The village is located on a southern flank of the mountain, on the heights of the valley of the Avançon River, west of the Diablerets massif, nearly 700 m above the Rhone Valley.

The highest point of the municipality is 2620 m on the slopes of Mount Culan and the lowest point is 680 m above sea level in Peuffeyre.
In 2018, 10% of the surface area consisted of dwellings, 51% wooded areas, 30% used for agriculture and 9% were unproductive areas3.

The Taveyanne Nature Reserve covers about 17% of the territory.
