Beromünster: Living on the farm - 7-room apartment with a lot ...

We rent a 7-room apartment in a historic farmhouse,
Witwil 3 in 6215 Beromünster

The very large 7-room apartment in the hamlet of Witwil is located above Beromünster in the direction of Herlisberg. A little outside the core area of Beromünster and yet close to the action, you can enjoy the peace, nature and the beautiful life on the farm. The post bus stop is right in front of the house for both directions!

A very large garden, divided by around 80m² of lawn and around 65m² of vegetable culture, make the hearts of every hobby gardener beat faster. And after the work is done, fire up the stove with wood for dinner, transports you back to Gotthelf's time ... if you are looking, you will find everything here!

As soon as you enter the apartment, you will notice the unusually large rooms and rooms. But be careful, for tall people, the room height of around 2.00 meters, which was common in the past, is likely to cause problems and a compromise must also be found for some of the modern tall furniture. But what else is waiting in this farmhouse from the 17th century, classified as worth preserving, is simply terrific!

In addition to the total of 7 rooms with a living space of around 170m², there are many other rooms in the house in which hobbies and other activities can be fully lived out. It is worth mentioning the top floor with a huge screed and two more originally preserved rooms, each around 20m² in size, which can also be used. The basement, with its own washing machine, also offers an incredible amount of space for unusual hobbies.

The apartment is perfect for a large family, for a nature-loving flat share, but also for creative and nature-loving individualists who are looking for long-term living and staying.

Description of the preservation of monuments in the canton of Lucerne:
Farmhouse north-east of Beromünster in the hamlet of Witwil. The two-storey plank frame construction (in the NzT with square timber infill) with leafed headbands faces the street at the gable end and is closed off by a kinked gable roof with guards that is dragged in the W via a subsequent extension. The mighty threshold with double locks rests on a partially recessed, massive and partly plastered basement. The facades are irregularly windowed and, with the exception of the northern gable side, clad with Eternit shingles. There are adhesive roofs on the gable ends between the upper floor and the upper floor as well as the two upper floors. The house entrances are arranged on the eaves, roofed in the W, with stairs in the O, and additional access via a simple wooden staircase in the N. The decorative elements include the hanging pillars of the Fluggespärre with carved, onion-shaped ends (renewed in a reduced form in the N), the curved arches and the saw-decorated window frames in the first attic. Particularly noteworthy are the preserved sliding shutters in the upper gable area. Wash house belonging to the N (GVL No. 178 b).

Building history:
According to the fire department register, the building was built before 1811. Brunner suspects that it was built around 1700. The building was divided into two houses with a pigsty from at least the 19th century until around 1922. 1849 changes, including a new tiled stove (inscription). Significant changes at the end of the 19th / beginning of the 20th century (sharp increase in the sum insured), possibly an expansion as of W. 1922, according to the fire insurance company register, demolition of a part of the house, but both parts of the house were insured together. 1978 Roof renovation (new roofing, partly new roof structure). 20th century facade insulation in the S and W.

Appreciation:
The farmhouse, which was presumably built in the late 17th / early 18th century, has been preserved despite changes with a lot of historical building fabric and some remarkable details, such as the now rare sliding shutters in the attic. Strikingly located on the street, the building shapes the appearance of the hamlet of Witwil and, together with the associated wash house, forms a coherent ensemble.
