Yen a pleasant town
Yens is a Vaud municipality in the district of Morges, bordering the municipalities of Apples, Bussy-Chardonney, Denens, Villars-sous-Yens, Lavigny, St-Livres, Bière, and Ballens.

The village of Yens is located on a hill a few hundred meters north of the Etraz road (connecting Aubonne to Cossonay).

The town includes vineyards to the south, forests to the north, and agricultural land. An artisanal and market gardening zone is located to the south-east of the town, below the Etraz road.

The vines are part of the Morgian vineyard, one of the 12 production sites of the AOC La Côte.

Access

The village is 10 minutes from the motorway, 9 km from the center of Morges, 20 km from Lausanne and 50 km from Geneva International Airport.

Yens is served by the regional train R156 of the MBC, better known under the name of BAM (Bière-Apples-Morges).
The train station is about 800 m from the center of the village.

During the last five years, the construction of housing in the municipality has risen to 1.7% on average per year, while the current vacant housing rate is 4.5% (status on June 1, 2020). Real estate prices have fluctuated by 7.2% over the past five years (canton: 8.8%).
